If you haven’t seen the movie The Visit, it’s time to go watch it. M. Night Shyamalan’s, The Visit, “Rises to the challenge and makes it good, scary fun,” said Bruce Demara from the Toronto Star. This thriller includes stars Kathryn Hahn playing the mother, Olivia DeJonge as the daughter, and Ed Oxenbould as the son.

“Shyamalan has delivered a delicious horror gem so intense that you may accidentally rip the armrests off your seat from clenching them so hard” ABC News Radio’s David Blaustein said.

The Visit not only includes scenes filled with suspense, but scenes that you will never forget. The twist towards the end of the film, however, is what the audience seems to remember the most.

“The twist is that The Visit reminds you that M. Night Shyamalan has a remarkable mind for what frightens us” said Blake Howard of Graffiti With Punctuation.

Though many people may not like the film, this film has a genuinely startling twist that is likely to restore the faith of some [Shyamalan’s] critics,” Michael O’Sullivan of the Washington Post said.

Having a budget of only 5 million US dollars, Shyamalan managed to top off the box office earning 98.4 million USD.

Shyamalan, who is best noted by being the director of The Sixth Sense, has directed and produced more than 25 films. His reviews may not always be perfect, but his reputation is growing.

“It’s human nature. Twenty-six people love the movie, and the 27th person hates it, and the only thing you can think about is the 27th person” said Shyamalan in an interview.

Deanna Dunagan, who is a character in the film, is a Tony award winning actress. Dunagan made her Broadway debut in 1979. In the movie, she plays the role of the grandma.

“I think she was really good as an actress in the movie, and portrayed her character very well,” Oconomowoc High School student Rachel Steele said.

The cast of this film pulls the whole movie together and is one to put on your all time top 10 favorite movies list. This one hour and thirty-four minute film delivers not only horrifying scenes, but an ending you will never forget.

“It’s the fun kind of crazy. And The Visit is undeniably, admirably intense when it needs to be” said Peter Hall of the New York Daily News.

The Visit is currently out on DVD and Blu Ray. It is also sold on Amazon and is available at Best Buy and other retail stores.
